At St Andrews we welcome any enquiry concerning a
christening, baptism or thanksgiving. Often people have
their children christened, but anyone of any age can ask to be
baptised or confirmed.
For children a christening is the start of an amazing journey
of faith and a special day for families and friends. Your child
is precious to you and precious to God. It is a chance to give
thanks for the beautiful gift of your child. You don’t have to
be christened yourself to have your child christened.
If you don’t feel it is the right time for a christening or the
right type of service for your child you can have a
thanksgiving service instead.
As we get older, we begin to question faith and God. You may
have discovered a personal faith for yourself and wish to be
baptised or confirmed (if you are already baptised). We
would be delighted to discuss this with you further.

We are sorry to hear of your loss and are ready to support you every step of the way. If someone you know and love has died, a funeral can be arranged for you and with you, in church or at a local crematorium. You nor the person who has died need to be churchgoers to have the help with a
funeral.
We believe that each and every person is uniquely made in the image of God. A funeral is a good place to give thanks for all that was special about the person you knew and loved.
The service can also include unique details, whether that is what people wear, the music that is played, readings that are chosen or simply a photograph at the front. Talk to us about the person you want to give thanks for and the life you want to celebrate. We will help you work out what is possible.
“God our Father, we thank you for the person we knew, the years we shared, the good we saw, and the love we received.” (Extract from a prayer in the Church of England funeral service)
